The purpose of the PTSO is to assist Amity Middle School in its efforts to provide an excellent education for its students in an atmosphere that is conducive to optimum learning and development. Our PTSO acts as a focal point of communication between parents and our school administration. This organization also supports our school, faculty, administrators and staff through volunteer efforts and financial support. Your membership and participation encourage a sense of community by providing families with an opportunity to become acquainted, and your involvement allows us all to work together to continue our wonderful programs of academic excellence. We thank you for your gifts of time, talents, and generosity. |

All other students will be automatically included in the directory. PTSO Volunteer Opportunities Please take a look at the activities listed below. Each is an opportunity for you to get involved at your child's school. Many of these activities will involve only an hour or two of your time over the course of the year. Why not give it a try? It will be fun, you may make some new friends, and it will definitely be appreciated. Fill out the form below and either return it to the school office ATTN: PTSO or mail, email, or phone: Linda Ferranti, 551 Locust Drive, Orange, CT 06477; ORANGEAMITYPTSO@YAHOO.COM , 891-9738. Please check off those committees you are interested in helping with. If you would be willing to chair a committee, note so with a "C". Thank you! _______ Teacher's Welcome Back Breakfast donate food items for the breakfast; help set up/clean up. _______ Membership Solicit and collect PTSO memberships through an August mailing and at Back to School Night in early September; Maintain records of PTSO membership. _______ Picture day Assist with Lifetouch picture day held in the Fall. _______ Hospitality Provide refreshments for school functions _______ Dance Committee Chaperone and/or provide refreshments for dances. _______ Thanksgiving Pie sale Help collate pie orders and the distribute pies on Nov. 21st. _______ Sportswear Coordinate the Fall and Spring Sportswear sales _______ Magazine Drive We provide support for this Student Council activity by distributing prizes during lunch. _______ Teacher Appreciation ( In early May) Assist with providing a treat for our appreciated faculty and staff. _______ Book fair Coordinate or work a shift at the book fair in the Spring. _______ End of Year Teacher's Luncheon Donate a food item for the luncheon; help set up/clean up. ______ On-Call Volunteer Be willing to be called upon to help with whatever may need a few extra hands. Sportswear order form due 9/29/06 (form attached) PTSO fundraiser reminder: The only fundraiser sponsored by the PTSO is the pie sale which started 9/11/06 and ends on 10/10/06. Pies must be picked up on Tuesday November 21 in the cafe from 3:00 - 8:00pm. Any questions please call Linda Ferranti 891-9738 or Natalka Junas 397-2352. It's not too late to pay your membership dues. Only members receive a phone directory. Meeting dates for this year are Sept 26, Oct 24, Nov 21, Jan 23, Feb 27, Mar 27, May 22 all at 7:00pm.
