A Message From Mr. Slie--
Important Information For Parents
A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:

In an effort to promote the safety of our students, we are tightening up a few procedures at our school.

STUDENT ABSENCE
Firstly, we ask that parents/guardians call the school if their child is going to be absent. This allows us to check teacher-reported absences against a master list. If we do not receive a phone call and the child is reported absent, a secretary will call the parent/guardian to verify their child's absence.

BUS PASSES
We also ask parents and students to limit the requests to take a different bus home for reasons of strict necessity only. Most of our buses are at or near capacity and can only accommodate a few extra riders. Please remember that students must bring a note from their parent/guardian to school requesting a bus pass that can only be issued by personnel in the Main Office.

AFTER SCHOOL PERMIT
Also, we want to remind students and parents that students must fill out an "after school permit" if they are planning to stay after school for any reason other than participating in an inter-scholastic sport. These forms are available from teachers and club sponsors. Last minute arrangements may be made by phone provided a member of the staff is spoken to and the appropriate form is filled out. This allows us to determine who is after school and for what reason. It also prevents students from staying after school without the  knowledge of their parents/guardians.. Late buses are available to students at 3:30 PM on most Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Students may stay after school on other days or times by appointment with their teacher/sponsor provided that transportation is supplied by their parent/guardian.

VISITOR SIGN-IN
Finally, we remind all people who visit our school to stop in the Main Office and sign in. They will be given a badge so that students and staff will know that they are authorized to be in the school. Staff members have been instructed to stop anyone not wearing a badge and escort him/her to the office.

These refinements may appear to be a bit inconvenient for all of us, but I assure you that they are extremely helpful in providing our students with the safest experience possible here at our school. Thank you for your cooperation.

A Message from Mrs. Gibbons--
Attention Parents and Guardians
Please read the following attendance procedures carefully. This information went home with your child during the first week of school. It was made available on Back to School Night, and will be sent home with the first report card. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
